How to Unlock iPhone 6s 6s Plus 6 Plus 4s Ultimate Unlock Solution Revealed

How to Unlock iPhone 6s 6s Plus 6 Plus 4s Ultimate Unlock Solution Revealed
UPDATED: 27th January 2016 – Apple iPhone Unlock Revealed. Our method still works on all iPhone 6’s.
Summary: There are three methods available to unlock your iPhone 6 or 6 plus – software unlocking, hardware unlocking, and IMEI unlocking. Software unlocking is a scam and doesn’t work, and hardware unlocking can ruin your phone and will void your warranty.
The only safe way to unlock your iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus, and 6s Plus is with an IMEI unlock. An IMEI Unlock will get your phone added to Apple’s global database of iPhones that can be used on any carrier. This means you can change to any carrier, whenever you want, without paying any extra fees

The best iPhone 6 series unlock service to use depends on the location of the carrier you’re trying to unlock your iPhone from.
If you’re locked to a carrier inside the US or Canada,  use Keys2iPhone. They’re cheap, fast, have great support, but have a limited range of unlocks available.
If you’re locked to a carrier outside the US or Canada, use Official iPhone Unlock. They have a HUGE range, responsive service and support, but are a little more expensive than Keys2iPhone.

Being locked to your iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus, or 6s plus carrier can suck.
Not only can they charge you whatever they want and provide poor customer service without any fear of losing you, but they can also sting you with massive global roaming charges whenever you head overseas.
This is not only unfair but also morally wrong.
The good news it that you don’t have to put up with it. Despite what your phone carrier might tell you, you can unlock your iPhone 6 and avoid all the extra costs they try to squeeze out of you simply and easily.
There are currently three iPhone 6 and 6 Plus unlock methods available. But, like everything in life, not all unlock methods were created equal…
Here’s a breakdown of those unlock methods that will show you which ones to avoid and which one will actually give you a permanently unlocked iPhone:

Unlocking Type 1: Software Unlocking
(Do not use it)

Software unlocking is where you download a piece of software to your iPhone that claims it changes the internal configuration and allows you to make calls from any carrier.
The key word in that sentence is ‘claims’.
Software unlocking used to work on the very first versions of the iPhone, but unless you’re rocking an iPhone 1 or 2, it’s not going to work. Apple got wise to the issue and closed the loophole by the time they launched the iPhone 3.
Don’t buy into and of the scams and stay right away from software unlocking.

Unlocking Type 2: Hardware unlocking
(It can work, but it’s dangerous)

Hardware unlocking is an unlocking method where you have to alter the physical hardware of your iPhone. To do this, you have to pay someone to physically crack open your iPhone and fiddle with it’s internal workings to reroute your calls through another provider.
And before you ask, yes, it’s as dangerous as it sounds.
If they do one thing slightly wrong, they can destroy your iPhone. If they manage to get it right (it can occasionally work), you’ll void your warranty and never be able to get it repaired properly.
So yes, it can work, but is it really worth risking destroying your iPhone just to make calls from another provider? No, I didn’t think so either.
The bottom line is: stay away from hardware unlocking.

Unlocking Type 3: IMEI Or Network Unlocking
(The only safe unlocking method for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus)

This brings us to the final, and only truly effective method for unlocking your iPhone – it’s called IMEI unlocking.
The way this works is simple. Every iPhone ever made has a unique identifying code called an IMEI. Every single iPhone has a different code and that code is registered in Apple’s global database.
Along with this code, Apple keeps other details of your phone – the year it was produced, the memory size, the colour, the model number, and also, whether or not it’s unlocked.
IMEI Unlocking is where someone who has access to the IMEI database changes your iPhone’s status from locked to unlocked.

Once that’s done, all you have to do is reset your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus and you’re free to use your phone on any network!

Obviously, this is the only unlock method you should use. There’s no software to download, and no-one has to change the internal mechanics of your phone. All they need to do is change the status from locked to unlocked, and you can change to any carrier you want, whenever you want.
It lasts for the lifetime of your iPhone, and you never have to worry about being stuck with one carrier again.

The Top 3 IMEI Unlock Services for iPhone 6/Plus and 6s/Plus

The thing about IMEI unlocks is you need to know someone how has access to the IMEI database. I don’t personally know anyone, but there are some great companies out there who have the right contacts in the right places.
Below are my top 3 recommendations for getting your iPhone unlocked.
Once you sign up with one of them, they’ll get in touch with their representatives inside the phone carrier companies and get your iPhone unlocked in as little as 12 hours. All you’ll need to do then is reset your iPhone, and you’ll be free to move to any carrier you want!
Here are my top 3 recommendations:

#1. Keys2iPhone – 9.5/10 (Use if you’re inside the US or Canada)

Keys2iPhone are my #1 recommendation because the do the simple things right.
PROs: First of all, they’re fast. My brother purchased an iPhone 6s unlock, and it was completed in 4 hours. Seriously. 4 hours. Is that even possible? I don’t know. But they did it.
Secondly, they’re cheap. Most unlocks are in the $39 – $49 range (the top end is around $130) with the cheapest coming in a $19.99. This is about 50% cheaper than most other providers.
Thirdly, their support is great. You can email them anytime, day or night, and their response is usually never more than a few hours away (Funnily, in my experience, the unlock is usually processed before their support has time to get back to me).
CONs: The only drawback with Keys2iPhone is that they have a limited range of unlocks. If you’re in the US or Canada, you should be able to find your carrier on their list (some of the more obscure carriers are missing), but outside that, you might struggle.
OVERALL: Overall, Keys2iPhone is my #1 choice because they tick the big three boxes – price, speed, and support. Sure, their unlock range is limited but they ones they do have covers 90% of all people, so that’s no worry.
If you’re in the US or Canada and need to unlock your iPhone 6, go to Keys2iPhone now.

#2 Official iPhone Unlock 9/10 (Use if you’re outside the US or Canada)

Just because Official iPhone Unlock is #2 on my list, don’t let that fool you into thinking they’re not a quality unlock provider.
PROs: Just like Keys2iPhone, they tick a lot of boxes (they wouldn’t get a 9/10 rating is they didn’t).
Firstly, they have the biggest range of unlocks on the market. Is your iPhone locked to Softbank in Japan? Great. They can unlock it. T-Mobile in Poland? Done. Claro in Panama? Problem solved. Their range is SUPER impressive, and they carry unlocks that no-one else has.
Secondly, their support is excellent. Unlike Keys2iPhone, they not only have email support but phone support as well. You can call them anytime you want, day or night, and there’ll be someone there to answer your questions.
Thirdly, they’re fast. The majority of their massive range of unlocks are completed in 24 – 72 hours, with only some of the rarer unlocks taking longer than that.
CONs: The only real drawback to Official iPhone Unlock, and the reason they scored a 9/10 and not higher, is they’re a little more expensive than Keys2iPhone. But I guess that’s the luxury you pay for being able to unlock your iPhone from just about every carrier in the world.
OVERALL: If you need your iPhone unlocked and you use Official iPhone Unlock to do it, you’re not going to be disappointed. Yeah, their US and Canadian unlocks are a little pricier than Keys2iPhone, but they have a range or unlocks you just can’t beat.
If you’re outside the US, UK, and Canada and need your iPhone unlock, go to Official iPhone Unlock now.

#3. IMEI Codes (5/10 – Not very impressive)

IMEI codes are the last pick on my list.
Sure, they have unlocks available and they will eventually get it done, but they don’t do it in a way that makes you excited about using them.
PROs: Well, Unfortunately, there’s not much to write here. Ummm… Their website is, blue? Hmmm…

CONs: For starters, they’re expensive. Like REALLY expensive. When I compared their prices, they came in 50% more than Official iPhone Unlock and 70% more than Keys2iPhone.

And look, the higher prices would be justified if they offered something that the other guys didn’t, but they don’t.
Their customer support is sloppy – REALLY sloppy. When I eventually got a response from them (4 days after my unlock was supposed to be ready), it was clearly written by someone who didn’t speak fluent English and who didn’t care whether or not I was satisfied with the service.
In fact, they responded as if they I was asking them to donate a kidney to my dog rather than a paying customer. Not good.

OVERALL: If you can’t find your unlock on Keys2iPhone and Official iPhone Unlock is down, then you could try IMEI Codes, but I would definitely only use them as a very last resort.

If you want to know more about IMEI Codes, you can visit their website here.

To wrap it all up…

There are three different kinds of iPhone 6 and 6 plus unlocks available.
  1. iPhone 6 software unlocking is simply a scam
  2. iPhone 6 hardware unlocking can occasionally work, but can ruin your iPhone and void your warranty
  3. iPhone 6 IMEI or network unlocking is the only way to unlock and keep your warranty intact
If you want a permanent unlock that will work and keep your warranty valid, then you have two options, depending on the location of the company you want to get your iPhone unlock from.

If you’re inside the US or Canada, unlock your iPhone with Keys2iPhone.
They only have a limited range, but they’re fast, cheap, and their customer support is excellent.

If you’re outside the US or Canada, unlock your iPhone with Official iPhone Unlock
They’re a little pricier than Keys2iPhone, but they have every unlock under the sun and the speed and support to back it up. Have fun with your unlocked iPhone 6S Plus 6S 5S 6 Plus 5C 5 4S!
